Mos Craciun (Santa Claus) (A Romanian Christmas Carol)

Buna Seara. (Good evening.) Am avut o zi foarte ocupata. (I had a really busy day.) (Today, my daughter didn’t have to go to work.) (When she doesn’t go to work, she has all kinds of things she was us to do together.) (God has blessed us to be together and to be friends.) Ea s-a nascut cand noi am locuit in Romania. (She was born when we lived in Romania.) Si ea e un binecuvant adevarat. (And, she is a real blessing.) (Where I am, others don’t understand if I speak Romania, but she understand a little because she spoke Romanian before she spoke English.) Am trebuit s-o duc in America pentru cateva lune, si ea a inceput sa vorbeasca limba engleza. (I had to take her to America for a few months, and she began speaking English.) Dupa acea, ea a inceput sa vorbeasca mai mult limba engleza decat limba romana. (After that, she began to speak more English than Romanian.)

Cand noi am fost in Romania, imi placut sa invata cantecele spiritual si colinele. (When I was in Romania, I liked to learn spiritual songs and Christmas carols. ) Asta e o colinda. (This is a Christmas carol.)

What happens when it is a holiday, the clouds gather

Usually it should rain gifts

We only think about what might be better

Si sa-l asteptam pe cine?

And do we wait for someone?

Sigur ca pe Mos Craciun!

Surely, like Santa Claus!

How does Santa only come to good children

Ce mai conteaza

What else can be against it
