Hola. Como estas? (How are you?) (She asked if I was from Mexico.) (I learned many years ago that people from Mexico at times are confused by me because I have black hair and brown eyes and can speak Spanish.) Pero no estoy de Mexico. (However, I am not from Mexico.) (My family has been from Oklahoma for many generations.) (When there were only American Indians in Oklahoma, I had family in Oklahoma.) Mi familia son vaqueros e indios. (My family is cowboys and Indians.) (My grandfather was a fruit farmer in southeast Oklahoma.) (My mother grew up on a farm, and is a wonderful gardener.) (When I was a little girl, we always had a very pretty garden at our house because my mother knew how.) (And Jesus was in the garden a lot when he was on this earth.) Y le gusta los jardines. (He liked the gardens too.)
